WG 25k7193 Problem
« on: March 16, 2008, 01:43:34 pm »
Hey, I finally got a picture on my Arcade Monitor, but it seems to be mirroring itself. I am using nVidia's control panel and it seems to be working as far as I can tell.

Pictures:

looks like a 15khz monitor being fed at 3x scan freq.

adjust nVidia settings accordingly

Definitely some variety of sync issue.

Are you also using Soft 15KHz?

I installed it again and now there's no more mirroring  ;D

One more thing I have to fix is the picture being squished at the bottom, I'll update with more pictures tomorrow.

For the 'squishing' problem, adjust the 50/60 hz control as shown here:

I finally got around to taking a picture of the monitor. You may or may not notice it but you cant actually see the Taskbar or the Blue bar at the top that should be there. There is also a very noticeable flickering in the picture but it also could be because it is so close to a huge transformer, or the fact that my video cable is temporary right now (not making the BEST connection)

And you adjusted the 50/60 pot and the vert size? They interact.

Yes I did adjust that 50-60hz pot, and it did make a huge difference but now I cant make V Size any smaller (I've maxed out the pot)

No it does not have a new cap kit installed, but I thought seeing that it's not THAT old it really didn't need it. Again on to me maxing out the V SIZE pot, anyway around this?  :dunno

Can I get something set straight? On The Real Bob Roberts, he's got a cap kit for a K7000 (I'm assuming that would the the circuit board reference number). Is this the right cap kit I need for the 25K7193?

http://www.therealbobroberts.net/k7000.html

According to that chart, it looks like I need a K7000 cap kit.

Just trying to make sure.

Thanks,
Xb0x3r

Well it turns out the resolution was just way too high for the monitor to display it properly so that when you moved your mouse, the screen scrolled with it. The monitor still does need a cap kit for good measure. But it has a really bad flickering. Bad enough to not be able to read anything small. Is there any way to make an attempt of fixing it? I'm going to make a temporary box lined with tin foil to insulate the thing.

Any ideas?

Currently, it's running at 800x600...I cant really force it to go lower without losing my CRT PC Monitor.

I can try, but it seems when I force it down more, the PC Monitor just says "Frequency Over Range"

I haven't done it in a while but it did do that before I changed settings and stuff around...I'll try it tonight  ;)

The idea is that you'll use just the arcade monitor, or PC CRT, but not both.  Are you still doing setup?

Yeah currently, the thing is sitting in my basement beside the PC Monitor (I have 2 arcade monitors, both the same model)

So I'll try to change it down right now and update in a few minutes!

Well I forced it down and the picture became worse! It still flickered a lot and also had scrolling lines across the screen  :censored:
