From what I can tell...  this seems to be a fairly rare game.  Anyone know any details about this?  Production numbers, approximate value, etc?

It came (working 100%) in my candy cab I just got at auction...

I'm not sure, but if there's a demand for it, I'd sell it. The game is kinda cool from a visual standpoint, but the gameplay is a few notches below the other Konami 4-player side scrollers like The Simpsons, TMNT, and others.
