Jap nintendo red cabinet covering

Hi guys,

I have a jap red nintendo and i'm trying to find out what type of covering is sides and front, It's not like the us nintendos becuase i have one of these also, Its like a gloss paper could it be a thin formica?

Any help would be great, i can send a sample.

I agree.... any pics of the red cabinets would be great.
Model number and serial numbers off the metal tag on the back too if they are there.

And I would think the covering is along the lines of a thin formica or veneer.
Would like to find a good source for something close myself, but haven't looked into it much.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

Well that's definitely an old Radar Scope.  Look at this picture for comparison:


I'd need a closer look at the convering to see what it could be.

That model cabinet is even harder to find than the other red cabinets.   ;D

There was a couple games that were put out in that style red cabinet.
Radar Scope, Heli-Fire and Space Firebird come to mind. All made in1980-1981 ish.
Odd though that it has that many slots on the speaker grill. I would have thought it would only have five like some other early red cabinets. (long time mystery)

Really curious about the tag numbers now.
Or anything else inside that might show it's originality.

Found a raderscope monitor instruction sheet in the bottom today and wrote down the numbers but i've left them in my shed  ::) will post tomorrow.

I know i can get new carrage bolts for the cp but does a company make new bolts for the coin door?
