My new MK2 machine monitor just quit! HELP!
« on: December 03, 2007, 07:42:02 pm »
I just got this machine today. I took the monitor out to clean and inspect it. I put it back in and turned it on. Everything was fine. When I went up to it to clean the face, as soon as I touched it, I discharged some kind of static build up and the monitor went to just a straight line across it. Anyone know why this happened or how to fix it? Please help! Haven't even got to play the game yet. Thanks in advance.

Nevermind guys. I just left if off for an hour or so and the caps apparetnly discharged and the monitor works great now. Sorry to have wasted all your time.

All I did was unplug the machine for an hour or so, but I also disconnected the chassis from the tube. Perhaps the static discharge drained some of the caps and they needed to be reset. I don't know. I guess I just got lucky.
