Okay, now somebody tell me what the point of that is? Why do that when you can stay at home and be connected to a bigger network? Maybe it's just me - if I'm going to plan a special trip somewhere, it sure as hell isn't going to be to a big stadium like that to play games on my computer

I used to go to small lan parties a few years ago before broadband was available.. a lot of games are hard to play over dial-up.. most of them were only 10-15 people though in someone's garage.. (local not long trip hehe)
usually we would do a BBQ and some other stuff.. hacky sack.. whatever.. hehe
but now with broadband.. you can just connect from home.. (still not as nice as 100 megabit but works decent for games)
Also.. if it's just with your friends.. it's fun to harass them from across the table hehe.. but i'm not sure you would have the same effect in such a large room..
maybe there is money prize involved?? hehe
