how to connect 7-button layout

Hello everyone,
I know this has been probably asked/answered many time, but I couldn't find a precise answer to my question...
I'm using a 7-button layout.
How should I connect it to the encoder (keywiz)?
This is my layout:
## A B C
## D E F
## G
Should I connect 2 buttons together (ex : A = G)?
Should I connect them to 7 separate inputs on the encoder?
Same question for pinball buttons?
I have 2 pinball buttons on each side (flipper + nudge).
I guess they are connected to existing button on the CP. what is connected to what?

I'm in the process of planning out my 7 button setup and this is the method I was considering. Hope someone with experience can let us know how it works. ;D

Honestly, either way will work fine, but if you're short on space, you can share inputs. You may want to have 7 separate inputs if you're emulating any consoles that have full gamepads full of buttons (e.g. SNES has 6 buttons, a start and a select = 8 buttons). Otherwise, yeah, make A and G one input.
The flipper buttons I'd share with main inputs though - since you can't really do much else with them anyhow.

thanks a lot.
I think I'm gonna share the inputs for now.
But I'll plan to have 2 separate wires.
So If I want to connect A/G to separate output, It will be only a matter of opening the cp box and reconnect the write to the right encoder input.

I prefer this layout myself.

That puts the main buttons on the bottom row for classic games.
One of my pet peeves is reaching over controls to use other controls.
I hate having my hand resting on buttons to use other buttons.
