A few years ago I picked up a upright gorf cab that was complete other than the monitor.
My plans at that time were to use it for a mame cab.
I have not done anything with this unit.
I do not know if the board are good or not, but I am thinking about finding a monitor to put in it to see if it works.
What kind of monitor do I need to find for this game??

You could actually run it without a monitor to see if it works.
It should coin up and play,, etc without it.
("playing blind")

Re-seat all connectors, socketed chips, etc.
Clean it up real good.
And hope the power supply is still good.
That should get ya started antways.

I have a 19" monitor that I just re-capped and I replaced a lot of components on the board too. I decided to go with a computer monitor so I don't need it. It seems to work great with very minimal screen burn. It uses a G07 chassis.

Don't know if you have powered the game up yet... but before you do...

Check the wires that supplied AC power to the missing monitor BEFORE you power up the game!!!

Sometimes these leads my have the connector cut off and the leads stripped and just hanging there... if these touch each other (or any metal part of the cabinet) when you power up the game... there could be fireworks, tripped breakers, nasty shocks, etc...

One of the junk cabinets I bought recently had the AC leads stripped and hanging... fortunately I caught it beforehand and did not power it up in this condition...

Just put wire nuts on each individual lead or use electrical tape to keep the leads from shorting or touching any metal part of the cabinet...

My vote is get it running.  Other than a monitor is looks like its in decent shape.  The inside bottom looks a little odd?  Was it wet or is that just the picture?

Looks like all is there, bezel looks OK as does the marque below the CP.  That CP looks great.  Those things are silk screened and tend to wear off easily.  Yours still has the wording to the left, the direction arrows around the stick, and good looking black boxes drawn around the different sections of the CP art.  All the cards are still in the cage.  There should be a power supply board up on one of the walls. 

Monitor wise, as mentioned, any standard res raster.  Mine has a good old WG k4600 in it.

If you decide to do the deed and MAME it I would be interested in the parts.   It would break my heart to see it parted since its all pretty much all there and in decent shape but, again, I would be interested.  I have a buddy with a converted Gorf in his building now.  I would probably just go get it and rebuild the parts on that cab.

On that topic, where are you located?  If you are close enough getting you a cab for a conversion is not a problem for me.  Perhaps we can work a trade.  Just tell me what kind of cab you want.

I am in Ohio.
I have not made up my mind what to do with the game yet.
I checked the power supply and have the correct voltage everywhere, but beyond that I dont know how to check the boards input/outputs.
I dont want to spend the money on a monitor if other parts are bad.
I am going to an arcade auction this weekend to hunt for some working games and hopefully a dead cab with a good 27" monitor to use for my mame project.
