I need help to finish off my cabinet.... software wise....VERTICAL CAB

So my cab has been sitting in the corner entierly to long doing nothing
Basically,
its a vert cab and i cannot get any freeware monitor rotating software that will work
The computer is currently running win xp sp2 but i would rather run a front end without windows
oh my interface is also a minipac wired with usb
.....
any help would make me happy
id like to see this thing work again

Yeah I would not use rotation software.

FE's and Mame do a better job on their own.

I want the menu to be vertical and mouse movement too...

I use MALA myself ..... but I hear Atomic FE is also very good.

right now im messing with the free version of fronty.... is that an okay program?
i might try a few and see what works
my major issue is i want it to be displayed in a vertical resolution as a menu.....

MaLa rotates the game menu vertical when you set the games that way.

I use Command Line Mame. You could get into some issues if you want to use mame32 with a FE

i cant seem to find an option to load in vertical where should i look?

yeah i finally figured out how to flip the menu....
however my mouse still acts like its horizontal....
i guess i will rotate the mouse physically because this front end rocks ^_^

now my games are all loading by default to horizontal and i have to manually change each one... is there a mame configuration file i should delite?
im using a normal mame.exe

Nah, Just change options-controller-mouse   'Exchange axis'

An Easier way is to edit the section in mame.ini to:
### Mame CORE video options ###
norotate                0
ror                     1
rol                     0
autoror                 0
autorol                 0
flipx                   0
flipy                   0


or easier change options-mame config-options 'Rotate mame with mala'

That is good to hear, maybe I shoud try that? .  When I set mine up I found that 95% things worked OK. Not quite good enough for me.
