weird youtube/firefox issue
« on: October 12, 2007, 01:55:37 pm »
okay, so I love firefox. But last couple of days  :dunno when i type www.youtube.com in the address bar on my desktop pc. http://es.youtube.com shows up. WTF, the videos are the same but all the descriptions are in spanish. WTH.

I had a similar issue with firefox on another pc with google, Id goto google.com and google.uk would load or google.netherlands would load. Anyway, I am not completely inept. I cleared cookies, history, temp internet files and that worked with the google issue on my other pc. But just tried this on my desktop, didnt help a dang bit.

anyone got any clues, I just did a spybot, adaware search and antivirus scan , and supposedly its clean

Im running windows XP media ctr 2005 edition with latest build of firefox and kaspersky AV. No other webpages are giving issues except youtube re-directing to spanish youtube version, any suggestions are welcome

Go to the Tools->Options->Advanced->Languages tab and make sure English is selected.
If English is selected, perhaps Clearing the Private Data from the options tab would stop the redirect.
