Hiding pointer/cursor or changing starting position Windows XP
« on: September 06, 2007, 02:12:33 pm »
Hello,

I did the best to hide the cursor on startup. (yes even using the .Default registry, it still show for 1 sec)

Now my idea would be to force windows to put the cursor in the bottom right corner.

Anyone knows how to do this?

Thanks.

Pitou!

Another solution I've seen is installing a pointer set that has the pointer as a one-pixel sized black dot.  I have not done this myself, but I'm sure you could find information with a search.

See if this helps: http://jaquer.izaram.net/files/Mousehide.zip

So people have a better idea of what they would be downloading, here is a description from the readme..

Quote
Mousehide by Izaram

Mousehide is a very simple VB proggie that will hide your mouse pointer after
approximately 1 second of inactivity. Simply run it and leave your mouse
untouched and your pointer will simply disappear.

I'm still working on a way to hide the "cute" little window (minimize to tray
maybe?). For now, you can run it like this "mousehide /hide" and you won't see the window appear at all, but be careful, there's no way to stop the program this way other than Ctrl-Alt-Del and end its task.

Send any feedback, good and bad, to domoper@izaram.net

I have a "one-pixel sized black dot." on my screen and it's burning a hole in my brain!

Sorry, it's Friday... I'm burned. :timebomb:

i think you need the NULL.ICO or something similar to set your pointer in the mouse properties of the control panel.

Touch screen driver sets usually include a set of mouse cursors that have a nulled out pointer.

I think you should be able to dig them out from here or somewhere similar

http://www.elotouch.com/Support/Downloads/dnld.asp#windows_universal
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/3MTouchSystems/TS/TechnicalInformation/TouchDrivers/

I know that when we've developed custom touch screen kiosks at work both of those guys (ELO & 3M) have supplied an 'invisible cursor' pointer icon with the standard driver pkg.
