Suits, the only thing wrong with your cab (and I say "wrong" in the loose sense), is that your panel was unnecessarily huge.  The rest of your cab is fine - quite good actually.  There's no need to rebuild that.  Just remake your control panel (and rig up wires so you can swap it out if you want additional controls) and you're set.

The one thing about 4-player panels that makes me discourage their building is that people seem to overestimate the amount of space required for the outer players.  This leads to ridiculously wide CPs and the dreaded "angling" of joysticks (contrary to popular belief, a player can stand off to the side of the panel and more than adequately work a joystick oriented relative to the screen - see: Gauntlet).  My advice to you is to take a look at some 4-player cabs on klov.com and notice how they do it and keep it simple.

As for the two-piece design, take a look at this thread before you commit to it (#1).  But I still say that you leave the cab's body as-is.

Suits00 -

I admire your fortitude. Good luck with your build and I'll be watching your project.

Im not a fan of huge CP's myself, but if you liked it enough to post it on the forum you must. Stand by your guns man your built your cab for you right. If your happy with it the cab is great. Who cares what anyone else thinks. Great cabs are never finished, but should never be scrapped cause someone on a forum doesnt like it.  :soapbox:

Yeah, you need to make the cp much smaller, it just looks so disproportionately large compared to the cab itself. That's probably the largest cp I've ever seen in my life. Do you think it looks too big?

By the way, why is there a hole in the middle of your marquee? Is there going to be a mirror in there so when you look at it, you see your own face? That would be cool.

I think that control panel is absolutely ridiculous, but I wouldn't want you to change it.  People are probably going to think I'm nuts for making my cabinet a Hockey theme, but I like it.  From the pictures you have posted your building skills are very good, and the construction of the box looks excellent.  I look forward to seeing your updated version.

One thing though, stay away from the "long" TV speakers.  They sound like crap.  The only reason they shape them like that is because they need to fit in a confined space.  You always want round speakers for accurate sound reproduction.
