Take a look at the picture. Found a company selling programmable lcd switch displays where you can also change the background color.

Yeah, I've seen them before. I came across them when I was trying to figure out a way to generate custom graphics for a project I wanted to build.
I didn't really like them because square is the only shape option.

My main beef is the price. I guess an evaluation kit is more expensive due to extras but I don't think I will be using them any time soon. Just interested in the technology. If there is a demand somewhere the price will drop like everything else electronic.

The eval board supports the different versions they have. Color and B&W if I recall.
