Yesterday I finally tracked down an Asteroids in good condition and at a good selling price. When I went to pick up the machine, I arrived about 10 minutes before the seller so his wife let me into his little shrine. What I found in there was awesome. His collection included a bunch of nice classics and pinball machines. Here's what he had.

Games:
-Lunar Lander
-Major Havoc (original and dedicated in PERFECT condition!)

-Omega Race

-Lord of the Rings
-Star Trek: The Next Generation (added yesterday!)

I was there to buy the Asteroids but I was drawn immediately to the Major Havoc. I got to play it for a bit and it was the first time I had played the game on an original and dedicated machine. I was invited back to come out one weekend when the get a little gathering together to play. In addition to having a great collection, the seller also knows a lot of people in the area that can help track down games and parts. For me, it was all pretty awesome.

Congrats on that. Reminds me of when I went to Wade's for the first time. Your just like,"Holy ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, this guy has a real arcade in his basement!"

Judging by the names in that collection, that guy has some SERIOUS fundage. Does he do his own work?

I'm not sure what he does for a 9-5 job, but he restores his cabs and pins and even rebuilds them as necessary. He mentioned that he picked up a quite a few of his machines as parts of a group buys, and that even the Major Havoc "wasn't very much money." Man, I really would love to be in on one of those group buys. I don't even care for some of the super rare stuff myself, I just want to build up my collection faster than I am currently.
