It is HOTTTT!!!!
« on: August 07, 2007, 10:50:43 am »
This morning I showed up at a job site at 7am to do some quick survey work. Within a minute of stepping out of my car I was drenched in sweat and even at 7am it already felt like 90 degrees and 150%humidity! This is crazy weather, and they say it will last for another 2 weeks or so. I'm in WV, how is everyone else faring?

90% humidity here on average, 85-90 degrees.

I'd still rather be outside than in this damn cube.

It's been well over a hundred here for almost 2 months straight.  Yesterday was the first day in a very long time that it stayed under 100 (I think it hit 95), and todays high is supposed to be 91, so I'm loving this slightly cooler weather.  I even get to turn the a/c off in the afternoon and open the windows.  Unfortunately it's supposed to heat up again in a few more days.

You're in Arizona IIRC, right? I'll take your 100 degrees over my 100 degrees any day. Nothing is worse than 90-100 degrees with 90-100% humidity. We go out to walk at night and you can feel the weight of the air making it harder to breath.

It's true, been in both spots... 100 dry degrees is not but it's nothing like 95% humidity.  You walk out of an air conditioned building and get slapped in the face with a steaming wet blanket that makes it hard to breathe.  And sweating to cool off doesn't help, there is already more moisture in the air than your body can handle.

I'm in California, suburb of Los Angeles.  For the most part humidity hasn't been too bad (around 30-40%), but a couple weeks ago it was 104 degrees outside while it was raining.  That wasn't fun.

If we get a quick rain around here, it smells horribly of wet dog outside for a few hours...

Heh, sort of the same here... the worst is those times right after it has rained but not enough to break the humidity.  Everything has a half inch of water on it and it feels like you're trying to breathe in a hot tub.

Yeah, today and tomorrow will be super hot in Houston. 96 degrees with a heat index of 105. It gets so hot inside my car I can barely touch the steering wheel. And the air conditioning blows air as hot as a hair dryer for five minutes or more before it cools down. I feel like I can turn on the seat heater and cool the car down that way. :)

It's the downside for it never snowing in winter.

I'm in Florida...it was over 100 the other day.  And it has been rained like crazy last week...so the humidity was freakishly high.

Not fun...but I'd rather be hot than freezing...the women wear less...I can handle that.

Dallas was really nice this morning.  78 degrees and pretty mild humidity.  It's supposed to get hot later so I might have to turn on the AC ;)

I gotta admit it was great Seafair weather last weekend.  Lots of ppl complained about the clouds/mist in the mornings, but being out on the boat ALL weekend (from friday noon until 8pm sunday night) it was sure nice to have a few hours in the morning where the sun wasn't beating down on us.  the afternoons were sure clear enough to get a great view of the Blue Angels as they did their thing....

Florida is really hot man, here we have to run from our cars into stores or our houses for fear of being burned alive.

Boise Idaho has been around 90-95 pretty consistently but we are pretty darned dry here.  We did dip down in to the upper 80's for a couple days but it's going back up.  Right now (3:42PM) it is 88 degrees.

In Central Ohio, the car said it was 97 around 6pm.  I'll take the heat anyday over 0 degree cold.  Nothing worse to me than January and February when it just sucks to be outside.

I worked in a grocery store in HS.  That was my favorite part of the day too... except I stocked the dairy case.  I'd disappear in there and hang out for as long as possible most days.

I miss Seafair, especially the hydroplanes.
It's mild enough today in the Bay Area, CA that I put on a heavy long sleeve shirt.  Been cooler than normal the past couple weeks.  59 degrees at 9:43am, with highs from 76-83 all week.  Rough, I know.

Yeah I'm dying over here too (WV).

Real high humidity, real high heat.  The crappy part is it's hot even at night!  So if I want to go outside and sweat in the dark I now have that option.  ;)

Last night, it was 85 with 75% humidity all the way until about 5:30 am. Tonight it is supposed to be 90 all night long. :dizzy:
