Remove Loading Profile Screen, Mouse and Boot Logo In XP??
« on: April 21, 2003, 07:30:58 pm »
Hi,
I managed to remove the welcome screen, and auto logon in xp. But I still have a blue screen appear that says "Loading Profile Settings" is there a way to hide this? is there a way to turn it off so it doesn't show?

Also the black screen that says loading xp can i remove it?

and the mouse and taskbar that pops on for a split second before lazarus loads can it be removed?

Thanks in advance
JIM

Boot XP will allow you to change the XP boot screen to something more appropriate (i use the Atari emblem myself).  Basically, you have to hack the Windows kernel file.

If you go to Control Panel and change the way that users log on you will not only never see the logon screens, but the machine should start slightly faster as well.

I don't know of any way to get rid of the taskbar/mouse in XP.  In Win9X operating systems you could just change the shell, but XP doesn't like that very much.

You'll probably also notice the blue shutdown screen in XP.  I don't know of any way to get rid of that one either.

You can auto-hide the taskbar, but I'm not sure if it will still how on startup.  I know mine does, but I have my quick-launch full of apps.

Also, X-setup(a low level tweaking utility you can grab from download.com) may have a way to edit some of these things.

you can make a new cursor for you mouse that is blank.  that way you will never see it - booting up, shuting down, or even if you want to to see it.   ;)

I use a program called hideshel.exe which I put in the startup group. It hides the taskbar ,all icons on the desktop
and disables the right click context menu on the desktop.
I downloaded it from a link on one of the examples websites. Maybe someone else has more info on it.
