TweakUI XP... is this link dead?
« on: February 24, 2007, 12:30:02 am »
Hey folks,

Finishing up my first, original-design cab (yes, I will "announce" it soon.  I don't think it's anything particularly special, but it's mine!  ;D)  and I'm at the "Hide the existance of Windows" stage.  The Instant Shell program works lovely, except for that 5 seconds where the cursor is revealed as a plain arrow -- not the nice little one-pixel job.

I've followed the wiki and the description on the GameEx site to the letter, but when it comes to getting that mysterious version of TweakUI that has the option to migrate all these settings into logon, I haven't been able to get it...

http://www.systemsmedic.com/DownloadFiles/TweakUIXP.exe <--  the link in question.

Anybody know if or why this link is DOA?  More importantly does anyone have that mythical version of Tweak that will give me the options I seek?  Thanks!

I noticed that too recently, and I'm glad I saved this guy for just an occurrence.   I uploaded the file to a filehost for you...

I believe this version has an option to configure a number of it's tweaks at startup as opposed to after Explorer loads...for those who shell directly to their front ends...

...but I have been wrong before!  And I will be wrong again!

FrizzleFried ... 3 posts and already I'm being called a pervert?

... oh well, I guess my reputation preceded me.   >:D

Actually, I've been lurking for months and didn't have any real need to post until now.  The info here is solid and complete, if you're not afraid to actually take the time to look.  Research and a little bit of common logic... amazing things, really!

Hey!  Are you trying to insinuate that some here don't bother looking but instead just ask questions?  :banghead:

 Say it isn't so!   :timebomb:

saint is The Man.   :notworthy:

(I mean that in the colloquial "You're the Man now, dog!" way, not the "You're the Man, holding everyone DOWN" way, of course.)  ;D

Since the first time around, I've had this file sitting on my website (just in case it came up again,) but it makes a lot more sense for him to host it openly.
