Author Topic: Need help or St. Louis Cardinals Font or World Series Font (Read 26317 times)

Okay, so back in the day (what, 03-05?) I built my 2nd MAME cab with a "furniture" look so I could keep it upstairs in the living space, I sold my wife on this idea, largely with the "yearly marquee" concept. The "Davis Family Arcade" would receive a new Marquee each year, chronicling thing that happened that year. In 2005, my wife and I got married in Disney World so I used a Disney Font to write "Davis Family Arcade - 2005". Now we're a quarter of the way through 2007 and I haven't made the 2006 marquee yet.

We didn't have any BIG family vacations or anything last year, but our hometown team won the World Series, and it was a pretty big deal to us. I'm looking for a St. Louis Cardinals Font, but it appears that team fonts are often hand drawn. As I have absolutely 0 artistic ability, I'm here to beg for help. I know some of you guys are CRAZY talented.

So if it's at all possible (I could toss some bucks your way I suppose) could someone help me out? I'd like something similar (vector would be nice, but not necessary) for the words "Davis Family Arcade" in either the St. Louis Cardinals (preferred) font or that goofy World Series Font..that'd be AWESOME.

I'm going through pages of 50 fonts a time that say "St. Louis Cardinals" looking for something ...no luck so far..

Hey, have you tried dafont.com? I've heard they have something really close to what you are looking for.

I can access what font the World Series type is. It's called Agency Black Extended. I was trying to find the Cardinals font, but no luck right now.

Here's to our World Series Champions!

Fellow St. Louisan here. Last time they won the Series was the year I was born. Heh.

it just means your a young kid and I'm a crabby old man.

Anyway, I've got something in the works. Almost have Davis Family written out in a Cardinals font.

I'll post it tomorrow.

Looks like that's coming along quite nicely. I would consider getting rid of the lead in on the 'a's though . I'd also look into putting a bit of a wave into the top of the 'F' as well (kinda like the ~ on the keyboard).

well, in an attempt to stay true to the real font, if you look at the word Cardinals, it has the lead in after the capital C. So, I'm leaving it.

I do like your F though. I just might wave it up a bit.

Doesn't the Coca Cola Font look like the font you are searching??

It's very close, but in my opinion a bit too script-y...

I'm a little confused about all the pictures of you and your family in the marquee

Especially the one with you lying in bed and blood(?) running down your face .....

But...most people put arcade characters on their marquee so why not do something new

first post I explained that each year's Marquee would chronicle things that happened that year for the family. Last January I got my face broken playing hockey and had to have reconstructive surgery on my right cheek to put everything back together. It was kind of a big deal since I couldn't play hockey for like...2 months and was stuck at home in bed for about a month. My eye was all messed up and I couldn't see straight so I couldn't drive or anything. so...since that's the picture that makes it look most horrific (and me most toughest

) I put it in there.

Then I'll take LAST year's Marquee (also shown in the first post) and make it into a light box and hang it somewhere in the house, so we'll have Family pictueres around the house...like most people, but they'll be old marquees.
