Best 33" monitor?
« on: April 14, 2007, 01:04:04 am »
Hey fellas....long time no see! ;D

Anyhoo, I have a Dynamo showcase cab with a 33" monitor, and it's shot.  I mean colors are faded and off even with adjustment.

I was gonna just plunk down for a D9200, but I saw the post about the quality control issues.  Could anyone point me in the right direction for a solid 33" arcade monitor.  I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

Have you actualy checked avaialability of the 33" anywhere?? The reason I ask that is the tube and yoke combination that was used by pretty much everyone for the 32"/34" if it runs anything higher than standard res was made by Thompson.

The tube and yoke is long out of production. The last time I tried to buy tubes for these was about 1 and half years ago- none to be found anywhere.

The same goes for 35V/36V or what is also known as 38"/39". I am the only one that I know of that has any of these tubes perhaps in the world... we build 39" tri-res for people like I.C.E.

Now if you are running standard res, you should still be in luck. I do not know about other manufacturers, but we still build a standard res, or at least as long as the tube and yoke are available.

Please let me know if you actualy find a 33" that will do more than stndard res, I am curious what tube is in it.

Thanks

Well, on the Happ's website (and Las Vegas location, which is cool since I live there), they sell a 33" universal mount D9200 for a little under a grand.  And from the sounds of things, that seems to be what I'm gonna hafta go with.

Also, doesn't Dynamo still make showcases?  What monitor do they originally come with?

Interesting that Happ has a D9200 33", Wells' site lists it as osolete and unavailable. Having siad that Wells' site shows a D9400, see below @ $750.
You might want to see if they actualy have them. Based on what customers have been telling me, they have not been able to get them, but this info is months old now. Perhaps Wells' does have them.

As I mentioned if you buy one, I would love to know the tube and yoke type.
By the way, Dynamao's site still advertises show case cabinets, so I shot them an e-mail asking them about what they use for monitors- should have thought of that myself.

Here is the info from the Wells' site

Good luck
