My wife just started having contractions.   We'll be off to the hospital in a bit.

Send some good vibes our way...  :)

Good luck!

(You're gonna need it)

If you aren't grey yet, prepare to go grey....or bald.

Seriously though....they are a lot of fun. I wouldn't trade the last 6 years for nothing.

And the cool thing about being in this hobby and having kids is seeing the look on their face when you tell them that Pac Man and Donkey Kong are the games daddy grew up on. That and just being able to share some of the experience of what an arcade was. Kids today will never experience what it was like to play a game on an arcade machine...kinda sad

Good deal for you.

Heh, my hair was reasonably secure till my 2 came along, now it's "starting" to thin out.  Not severe yet, but I think there's something to that.  Could be stress or physically pullling it out, not sure...  (don't worry bout it, it's all good).

Best wishes, and hope to hear that it's a happy and healthy one soon.

Chloe Grace, born at 8:39 pm, March 24th.  7 pounds & 19 inches.  Mother and daughter are doing great!  :applaud:

This is my wife's third child and our first together (my first, as well).  There's nothing that can prepare you for that rush of emotion when your baby squishes out onto the delivery bed.  Truly overwhelming!

Thanks for the well-wishes!

All that's missing is the credit knock when she hits the midwife's hands.

Congratulations.  We had a girl last Feb. 10th, a trip for us since it was our first, but it sounds you already have some Dad experience.

Congrats!  Beautiful girl.  At first I thought you named her Chole, which would have been pretty unfortunate, but I've always loved the name Chloe.  Good choice.  :)

Thanks everyone!  We get to take her home tomorrow.

We were a little surprised that she came on Saturday, but it really worked out perfectly.  I just left my last job on Friday and will start a new one in two weeks.  Now I get to spend the two weeks helping out my wife.  She's off for twelve weeks!

So far (I know... she's only a day old), Chloe seems to have a very mellow disposition.  Such a sweet little girl.

Congratulations!   Welcome to the new Daddy! Sounds as if she's got Daddy wrapped around her little fingers already....and EVEN IF you say she doesn't, you might as well face it...she will soon enough!

She's beautiful, by the way.  Enjoy every precious minute with her!

Very cool, congrats to you and your wife.

And the time off sounds perfect.  It's wonderful having the time to focus on the baby and the wife after getting home.

Let me just say, enjoy it because you, sir, are in a honeymoon period.  For the first two weeks or so your little angel will want to do little more than sleep, periodically waking up for a dairy snack before zonking out again.  Trust me, she may be fixing to give you four months of non-stop colic and she would still be an angel for the first two weeks.   :)  It's all worth it, though.  You'll get used to the chronic sleep deprivation and one day she will start letting you get something like a full night's sleep again.

None of that stuff ever bothered me.  It's just not important in the grand scheme of things and you'll barely remember it after it is over.  It won't be long before your kids are old enough that you wish you could remember more of what it was like to have to get up three times a night to administer a bottle.

Well, I'm trying to soak it all in as I know the time is going to fly by.

My wife's exhausted getting up every two or three hours to feed her.  I'll be giving her (the baby, not my wife  ;)) a late night bottle to help out.  Who knows how she'll be a week or a month from now bu you look at that sweet little face and, as Shmokes said, it's all worth it.

None of that stuff ever bothered me.  It's just not important in the grand scheme of things and you'll barely remember it after it is over.

I think this is true as my step son (now six) had colic and tortured my wife for months.  She's pretty tough and it sure didn't seem to put her off having another, lucky for me.  ;D

---

We barely made it to the hospital Saturday night.  Had we finished watching that second episode of LOST on Tivo (as my wife suggested), we would have had Chloe on the tile in the living room!

The baby came so fast that there wasn't even time for the expected epidural so my wife, completely terrified, did it au natural.  Two pushes and out she came.  I've never heard Tiffany make a sound like she did then, and I don't think I will again.

Ah, well...  It's good to be home.

We watched Scrubs on my laptop in the labor room until the contractions got real bad. My wife went natural by choice...and there was alot more than two pushes :dizzy:. Women are so much more tough than men without a doubt.

It's been six weeks already here and it has given new meaning to time flying.
