Mounting the Keywiz Max 1.5
rdowdy95:
Hey guys Randy sent me the mounting feet and screws for my Keywiz Max 1.5. My question is this though. Do I make the screw holes first. Then lay the feet over the holes, then the board, then screw through the holes of the board into the feet?
Also do you guys put your encoder on the underside of the CP top? Or do you put it on the inside of the control panel box?

I put my keywiz on the underside of the cp top. Seemed like the logcal thing to do since putting it there would allow you to remove the cp top without the hassle of wires. Just unplug the ps/2 cable and go.

Dowdy.... update your project announcement! I swear I'm going to lose $20. I was betting you either wouldn't complete your cabinet or you would die in the process. ;)

Leapin I will. Man I know my updates suck. I will take some pics of the control panel top tonight. I am cutting holes in it with my slow Forstner bit. I have all of my P2 controls cut out, and I have a sloppy looking trackball cutout, but it will work fine. It is taking me a while, because I am always watching the youngster. It will be finished in March sometime. Need to order a little bit more T-molding then that is the last thing I need. I have everything else.
Tell me though did you use the little mouting feet. those are hard to stay still. Hey but did you mount the keywiz, then wire it up or did you wire it up then mount the keywiz?
leapinlew:
mount then wire, and I used the feet on a few of mine and the others I screwed straight to the wood.
