Newer MAMEs with new graphics engines
« on: January 17, 2007, 06:02:30 am »
Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has used the latest MAME version with the new graphics engine on an arcade monitor using the arcade_monitor option..?

Im currently using advMAME in a cab, but that will be stuck at 1.06 pre new graphics engine. The new engine though should output the correct modes as its not using resoluion switching like the old one and you can select to use the native pixel ratio, so it maybe that advMame is now no longer such an essential item!

Cheers

Maybe someone can elaborate but from the reading I did at the time I understood that you could still run at low res. modes, but I forget the settings exactly...I think maybe you have to use ddraw instead of d3d (?)

I don't remember an 'arcade_monitor' option since the DOS days tho...
