Just found this: Mame with built in Highscore
« on: September 29, 2009, 04:57:31 pm »
I went to the highscore web page. Was going to download highscore.dat and start compiling my own Mame so i can have Highscore. This would have been my 3rd attempt.

Then I read this:

Click to download mame version v0.133u3 with hiscore support. Note :- you need this file and the hiscore.dat file above to save hiscores. Also thanks to MKCHAMP for making this build of mame possible.

I found it here
http://highscore.mameworld.info/download.htm

Ok. I downloaded it and played Donkey Kong. Fresh install of Mame and one Rom, Donkey Kong. It saved my score.

So....Is there any need to compile my own? I sent MKCHAMP a msg about it. My ROMS are .134 and it says this version of Mame is .133u3

I dont know if this will cause an issue.

Thx
Mark

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

There will be some issues, simply because your set doesn't match the MAME version, but there shouldn't be many problems since it's so close.
Check out my first product, The Tone Ledger, a premium workflow tool designed for guitarists, bassists, keyboardists...pretty much anyone who enjoys using amps and pedals.
