I just don't see how this could possibly be true. Printing currency is something the US Treasury takes very seriously.

It is a sticker. They have done that with Santa also. Or was it Satan? I don't remember.

I got the Santa one about 15 years ago and still have it.

When someone talks about "illegally altering/destroying U.S. currency" it primarily pertains to coin currency (though there are statutes that outline paper currency as well). The only real "loophole" is if the intended result is intended to have an "artistic" purpose. Since art can never be defined, you're pretty much off the hook.

Quote
18 U.S.C. §331:

Whoever fraudulently alters, defaces, mutilates, impairs, diminishes, falsifies, scales or lightens any of the coins coined at the mints of the United States, or any foreign coins which are by law made current or are in actual use or circulation as money within the United States; or whoever fraudulently possesses, passes, utters, publishes, or sells, or attempts to pass, utter, publish, or sell, or brings into the United States, any such coin, knowing the same to be altered, defaced, mutilated, impaired, diminished, falsified, scaled or lightened - shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. (Emphasis added.)

I have 2 "Elvis" dollar bills that are supposed to be "real currency"...though why in the hell would I want to spend those two 1 dollar bills when they are worth more than a dollar?

Just remove the words "to spend" from that question and it'll make a lot more cents.

How many more cents would it make to not spend an Elvis dollar?

Dude...you aren't even THINKING about talking ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about "The King" are you?   I'll jump through the line and ---smurfette--- slap you something fierce!

...btw...my Elvis dollars are NOT stickers over Washington but were actually printed that way...though I find it hard to believe it could be actual currency (though it DOES feel like authentic "currency" paper).

You seem to lack something.  I'd point it out but I don't want to look any closer.
