Hi all.  I hope to get a TV for my first cab soon.  I wanted a 25" initially, but will go with a 27" because of the component in, based on the confirmed suspected quality improvements over s-video posted here among other places (like oscarcontrols).  Don't know of a 25" model that has component in.

Here are the models I have in mind.  Does anyone have any experience with whether they will power back on to component in / s-video after loss of power?

JVC AV27S33                ($300 @ BestBuy)
Panasonic CT27D12D   ($280 @ BB w / rebate)
Panssonic CT27G7SD   ($270 @ Circuit City)
JVC AV27320                ($270 @ Circuit City)

Feel free to mention others.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Actually, I did just find a 25" with component in.  Anyone with thoughts on this?  It's a Samsung.  I might go check it out at the local Tweeter.

You might want to follow/check out this thread about component etc...
before getting it:

Yup, that thread (and the pictures from oscarcontrols) is what I based my decision on.  Well, that and the knowledge that you're normally going to get a better picture from component over s-video.

I ended up getting the JVC AV27320 because Best Buy had it on clearance today.  It was the floor model.  They reduced the price of the tv to $210, and threw in the four year warranty, so it's a pretty good deal.

To answer my original question, that model at least (and the other JVC) does power back on to s-video or component in after power loss.  I tried it at BB.

I'll probably start with s-video and play with the component hack (vs. getting the $45 dongle), and see what I get.

Thx,
Chris
