What did I do to make "shift-p" open WMP?
« on: November 24, 2006, 10:00:15 pm »
Just today my computer has started to act funny when it comes to the letter P

If I hold shift (either one) and hit the P key Windows Media Player will open up.

The only thing I've done keyboard related recently was install a program located here http://www.passmark.com/products/keytest_screenshot.htm that is a keyboard testing program.  I got a childrens keyboard pretty cheap and wanted to make sure that all the keys worked as they should so I downloaded that hoping to make it easier.

Using the program seemed to go fine.  Keyboard checked out good.  One thing that should be noted is that there was a checkbox that I clicked that said "Filter system keys" which allowed me to verrify that the print screen button worked.  But I unchecked it before ultimately uninstalling the program because the keyboard worked and all was good I thought.

Any thoughts?  I can't seem to find any documentation of a shortcut with the P key for WMP so I'm at a loss...

P.S.
All the cappital Ps in this topic were done with the caps lock function. ;)
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Grrr...

I wish we could still delete our own posts.  After further snooping, I recognized a process running that I didn't recognize.  I closed it out and I can Shift-P all I wan't now!

YAY! PPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

There might be a process running that you don't recognize. Close it out and you should be able to Shift-P all you want!  ;)
