I've been away from this board for a while. Currently, my pimped-out cab (which I haven't updated in over a year) has a 25" standard arcade monitor, 1.4 GHz AMD rig with 1GB, Trident Blade card, and Jpac. For software, I run Win98se (with a TSR to make the Blade output 15KHz). My main emulator is DOS advmame, my front end is mamewah. I tried an arcadevga card for a while, but advmame didn't really support it, and so I tried regular mame and found it took longer to load and ran slower than advmame... so I went back to the Trident card with advmame.
Generally, it works pretty well, but I'm always thinking there is room for improvement. So I wanted to get some opinions. Stick with Win98SE, or take the linux plunge? Stick with Mamewah, or switch to advmenu? Is there a better, faster mame than DOS advmame?
