Radar Scope Artwork Set *update*
« on: February 09, 2006, 06:49:35 pm »
*update*
I have the bezel and cp scanned.  I just need to merge all the images together.  Any software better than photoshop's photomerge?

I'm just wondering of anyone would be interesed in me vectoring my radar scope artwork that I have been collecting.  I have a nos marquee, slightly used control panel, bezel, and instruction card.  If you guys are interested I'll start vectoring them.

Why Don't you start out with some hi-rez scans and upload them to the Arcade Art Library?

http://www.localarcade.com/arcade_art/

Then vectorize them and upload those ; )

I would, but my scanner is in the mail from ebay.  I already have some previous vector experience so it shouldn't take too long.  Here is a pic of the cp and marquee.  The bezel should be on its way soon.

How's this project going?  I'd love to see a vectorized bezel.  Any updates?

We definately want all of it! I would like the bezel so as to add it to MAME's artwork to create a Hi-Res Bezel.

Hey, that's what I was going to do!  I just started messing around with creating bezels.  I started by altering the Frogger bezel so it was more 4x3.  Have you done many bezels?  I got inspired by this web site: The Mean Arena  It's run by a person calling themself kiltron.  Anybody know if they ever post on this board?

You need to recreate it so that its technically the right dimensions if you are to add it to MAME. MAMEdev strives for pure accuracy and that should extend to artwork.

I have redone Dig-Dug that rohan kindly vectorised but its colours were wrong and had a couple of errors due to rohan's lack of time to make it 100% perfect.

I'm currently working on DK 3 and DK Jnr.

You maybe interested in my MAME COVERS which is found normally at http://mamecovers.mameworld.net/, but is currently down due to MAMEWORLD lapsing the domain! Its currently being sorted....but how long it will be I have no idea. I may put them on another site.

I have never seen this site at all!

Cool.  The ones I've done are mainly for my own enjoyment.  But I'd be willing to share them.  I need to find a way to host them. Maybe I'll contact kiltron and see if he will host them.

I just got my scanner a little bit ago.  I've been trying to get a clean scan.  I need to deskew the images before I join them together.  I have an epson cx5400 printer/scanner.  It's hard to get a clean scan, because the scanner glass is lower than the plastic around it.  I was thinking of getting one of those hp scanners you can just set on the object.  I might be able to do some more work on it over the weekend.  Any tips on scanning would be helpful.
