Adjusting an Eygo Monitor
« on: March 25, 2003, 09:11:11 am »
I just picked up a 27" Eygo monitor. It works great. The picture is bright and clear and since the max resolution is 640 x 480 it doesn't look like a computer monitor at all.

Anyway, I have an adjustment issue. I tested it out of the cab and it worked fine.  It has controls (6 pots) to adjust the picture.  I need to adjust the height of the picture.  When I turn the pot to adjust the vertical size, I am at the limit of the rotation and I still need to make the picture a little smaller to fit.  There has to be an easy way to recalibrate this pot or to adjust the pic to fit.

Anyone have any ideas?  Any help would be much appreciated.  Or, if someone could point me to another online source for the solution.

Thanks

On my monitor, I got it from Closeouts, I live in Conn. so I just went to LI to pick it up myself.  If you've been following the eygo threads you'll understand why.  He has 2 27" eygos left and a few brand new WG VGA monitors for I think $350.  The monitor I got was refurbed and it's quite clean and looks brand new.

Anyway, it has six monitor adjustments on a ribbon cable as a wired remote.  The pot for the vertical size was maxed out, so I did a little research and found out that there are many pots for adjustment all over the main board and neckboard.  Without a manual or schematics it is trial and error to find the right pot.  With the monitor on, (use a plastic srewdriver and always be aware of where your arm is or else you will get zapped.)  I placed a mirror in front of the monitor so that I could view it while working in the rear. I made a big panel in the back of my cab that comes off for just this purpose.  Working methodically I turned each one to see what they would do. Turning them back to their original position when they weren't the one that I was looking for.  I found the pot I needed after a I tried a few.  Adjusted it and now its perfect.  Windows looks great and more importantly so do the games.  I'll post a pic when I get a digital camera (soon).  For a 27" monitor that doesn't look like a computer monitor at all, you can't beat $175, well maybe you can but this is the option that I wanted to go with.
