Pacman Control Panel question
« on: August 28, 2006, 07:59:55 am »
I have a quick question. I've just picked up a Pacman machine that I'm working on fixing up. The control Panel needs to be overhauled. I've downloaded the new graphics from Arcadeart.com, but when I print it out, it comes out at 22 1/2 inches. I was expecting it to be at 23 inches. Can someone confirm if it should be 22.5 or 23? (If you have a picture handy, that would be nice to see also)

Thanks!

Hi Mark ...

The CPO on my panel is 22.25" wide (it is not corner to corner) ... pic attached.

I've also attached the bottom pic which you have already seen so we can talk about the mounting of the stick. I haven't taken the panel apart yet (I only just got it), but it looks to me as if the wood portion comes off (carriage bolts at the four corners and centred on either side of the stick) and the stick is top-mounted into the wood portion of the panel (4 bolts to the left and right of the stick).

I dug through my arcade files and found the stencil graphics that I spoke of -- they are fullsize GIFs (one for each of blue, red and black). Stupidly, it seems that I did not grab the kickplate stencils and have been unable to find the site I downloaded them from originally. I'll keep looking. I do have the sideart and kickplate art in fullsize GIF (at 96 DPI) as well if that is of interest.

Well, I'd best get back to work.

Cheers.

Hmm, GIF files don't help me any.  My vinyl cutter won't cut out GIF's.   :'(   I would need something in Adobe format. (AI)  I did find some AI's on ArcadeArt.com, just not sure if they are accurate. Plus the colors are not separate either.  I'll have to play around some and see what I can do.

I have been thinking about getting the artwork printed on vinyl and just being done with it (I've got to get some of these projects done and I blew up a U3000 monitor last night) ... I've got a decent print guy and am going to run it by him for a rough price.

Cheers.
