ahmer:
Thanks for Highlighting the good Points...
I have Compile MameV0.73 Including Latest Neogeo + (Decrypted) Roms sets.
I know [Decrypted]Roms Loads very quickly and Runs a bit faster...
So what do you think if I put a long List of games just in a single CAB.
How much Processor Speed + Ram should be Fine...???
I have seen many Neogeo games on a 500 MHZ + 128 MB Ram on my Cousins computer...
Unfortunately I can't beat him because he knows very well about LINUX setup with AdvanceMenu and AdvanceMame....
Howard_Casto:
You've seen many early neogeo games that run on 128 megs.
Here's the deal. When mame (or any other emu for that matter) loads a rom, the entire rom is put into memory. Some of the metal slug roms are 70-80 megs. You only have 128 megs of ram in these computers and xp takes a considerable amount that it uses all the time. Plus mame itself takes around 15 megs of memory. That leaves a puny 30 megs for xp to run on. What'll happen is either it'll either run ungodly slow, or mame will give you an out of memory error (or just plain lock up) and it won't run at all.
The latter is usually what happens.
Even if by some miracle you were to tweak xp to overcome those obstacles, it'd require heavy use of virtual memory, which means you can literally go get a sandwich and watch tv while metal slug is loading and come back and still have time to stare at the screen a little.
I'm not saying you can't run the mslug games on a computer with 128 megs of ram, you just probably can't do it while running xp on that computer.
NightGod:
I personally wouldn't even load XP on a machine with less than 256 MB of RAM (in fact, I have actually refused to do so in the past, despite it being a paying customer who asked). Ideally I wouldn't use XP on anything less than 512MB of RAM.
That said...you could take all 4 of those 128MB sticks of memory and make one machine with 512 or two with 256, either of which would be ALOT better than trying to run on 128MB.

Very Nice Reply as I expected...
Should I Stick with Windows98 on that limeted Hardware specs?
Minwah told me that Mamewah Runs better On Xp thats why I was thinking about it...
There is a great way to Disable Unwanted XP services for Super Tweak Mame and Mamwah...
Don't you think that Tweak WinXp is More Better than Win98?
Can I make Mamewah as Windows98 Shell ?

You can make any executable a Windows Shell.
