Should I PAY someone to do my vector work?
« on: July 15, 2006, 12:58:04 am »
The bigger question is would I even get any nibbles?

Seriously. Having been employed in computers for 10+ years and growing more disinterested with what I do for a living as the months turn into years, I'm loathing spending the time needed to transfer a few images from raster to vector. I'm so anxious to completely avoid the process of learning yet another app with 4000+ possible configuration options that I'd rather pay someone to do it for me.

I'm considering posting a "job" on guru.com and taking bids. How much should I be willing to pay?

Here is one of four characters I'm hoping to have vectored. Click for more detail or bigger size.

Comments appreciated.

because of the gradients in that image, it would take forever to vectorize it. You'd be better off finding a good illustration of it and scanning it at 600 or 1200 DPI if need be.
Have you paid your dues Jack?......Yessir, the check is in the mail!

I wasn't ready to admit it until I read your response. Cool. Hopefully a 1200 dpi scan with a Photoshop massage will look half-way decent. Maybe I'll look for a 2400 dpi scanner.

Thanks man.
