Opinions on Component Video Cables
« on: July 11, 2006, 11:21:06 am »
I need to purchase a 4 meter component video cable and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation on an affordable brand.  Quality is imoportant, of course.  I'm just looking for an option other than Monster.

Thanks,

Steve

Try Here.

I bought a $5 HDMI cable that works great! But that is a digital cable so I am not sure how well a component cable would work from them. At those prices though, it is worth a try. If you have the option though, get HDMI. Very nice picture.

Ah yes.  Good ol' Monoprice.  Awesome site for digital cables.  Bought a bunch of usb's through them.  My tv does have HDMI, but the component cable is for a switcher I'm hooking up to run some video game consoles through (Xbox 360 being one of them) and component is the only option.

Thanks for the link and for everyone that hasn't checked out Monoprice, there's some great deals to be had there.

Are you saying you have tried the non digital cables and had problems? I had planned on trying some non digital cables from them when needed because of the price but if they suck, I won't.

I haven't tried them but, from what I've read, material quality matters more with analog cables than with digital cables.  But I'm no expert.  Obviously.  ;)

After sifting through some home theater sites and reading reviews I bought a component cable from these guys:

Their cables have gotten decent reviews and the price was right.
