quick question about a trackball

(1/3) > >>

stephenp1983:
Does this trackball from happs jsut connect straight into usb? Do you not connect it in anyway to the Ipac intereface?  How about the one from xarade that's like only 59 dollars.  How is it?  I just wanna make sure I get all I need.

Right now I'm looking at

Buttons from happs,
2 controller sticks
Trackball
and Ipac intereface

is that all I need, what about all the wireing?

ahofle:
Which trackball from Happs?  They sell a USB trackball which you just plug in to your PC and also one that you will need to connect to an optical interface like the Optipac (NOT IPAC).  Wiring info is here: http://www.ultimarc.com/optipac3.html

I have the X-Arcade one.  It's pretty cool, feels good and all, accurate at least to my memory of Marble Madness.  It has a 10 foot long cable which ends in both a USB and a mouse PS/2 plug, and comes with 4 full buttons (designed for 3 mouse buttons and a button that's primarily for cheating at golf games) and connects for more buttons (which just map to the same 3 mouse buttons).

dreamwriter, so the trackball itself just connects through usb right, do you connect the included buttons to the trackball someway, or to an ipac intereface?

also the happs I was refering to was the one with usb, I had seen the other cables and was curious about it.

kiddk1:
the other cables are the ones made to connect to arcade cabs.  if you get one of those you will need something like the optiwiz from groovygamegear to interface it to your pc, otherwise the usb version is your best bet.  dont forget the mounting plate.
