How much is too much for custom artwork? I've been asking around and getting quotes from all over the place.  :P

That is, for sideart + marquee + control panel

We talking about them printing it? Or designing it and printing it? I would expect to pay in the neighborhood of $15 a sq. ft. to print any custom CP art.

Designing it could cost quite a bit. A per hourly rate.

Just for designing, not printing.

Expect to pay an arm and a leg for quality work.  Its worth it though to have something just the way YOU like it.

I paid $60 one time for side art I never even printed.  Another time I paid around $100 for a control panel that I will enjoy for years to come.

My arcade cabinet was ruined by a flood... it filled my garage full of water up five feet and the entire bottom half is all blistered and swollen even two months after the flood. And the wood is cracked and splitting in many places.

so this project is kind of a failure unless I can fix this somehow

Flood?

Hell with the arcade - how's the house? Insurance cover it?

One potential solution is to cover the bottom with something - like diamond plate - but I suspect you may have to cut new peices out and patchwork the rest.

Or...

Call the cabinet 'Flood 2006' and give it a water logged theme.

Wow. So sorry to read this, Doom. I hope you haven't given up on it. I just saw GSXRMovistar's cab and had the same reaction as you. I want to build one like it. I just now stumbled on this thread while searching for info/pics on it.

So come back here. Give me pointers!  :notworthy:

Things changed, plans changed, but I'm happy with the final result.

As someone mention in another post, you know if you click on reply, then Additional Options, you can actually attach picture to thread instead of hosting it outside.  just a fyi...
