ROMS not found in front ends - puzzled.
« on: December 31, 2006, 01:32:28 pm »
I've now installed both mamewah and mamefe and neither can find my roms. I've pointed to them exactly using the ini and setup (respectively) and neither finds roms. Roms do exist. I can command line mame.exe with the rom name and it plays just fine. roms are under the standard c:\mame\roms file.

Frustrating. Everything is a gd task.

Any ideas?

Can you add " >test.txt" to the end of your Mame command line option for MameWah, then open test.txt, and see what error message you get.

I will save you hours of heartache....

...if you have MAMEWAH 1.61 and are trying to use it with MAME .107+,  don't...it is such a pain in the ass that you will want to shoot yourself before you get it going.

Dump it and get MAMEWAH 1.62b12.

Your problem is that the front ends aren't generating LISTS for you...

I was having the same problem.  Guess I'll get the beta and check that out.

Well that took me all of 5 mins to download the beta and install and it worked fine.  I'm still at least a month out from finishing my cabinet and getting the pc in it and such so I'll wait and see what revision is out by then.
