WIP - MAME Retro Cab
« on: June 06, 2006, 01:00:56 am »
I just had to toss some photos of my cab.   After 3 failed attempts at getting my plexi cut I finally have 1 piece cut and most of the controls installed.  I just had to post some pic to show off my minor success vs plexi.

I still have to get plexi for the front portion of the control panel.  I made up some more artwork that goes there but I miscut that piece as well. :( I hate plexi.

Nice work, although I think this might have been better suited for the project announcements forum.

I like the simple graphics on the CPO. What font is that?

I just used the system font and blew it up really big to get the pixalized effect.  I was going for the sleek retro look.  Nothing fancy about it but it looks amazing in person.  I'm actually thinking about designing CPs for peeps if they are interested .  I have fun making these things.

Is the joystick in the middle a 4 way? The arrow graphics sort of indicate it's an 8 way.

Yeah it is definately a 4-way.  The panel just looked to empty with just the 4 arrows.  Hopefully those who use my cab will not need those arrows to know how to use the stick. ha..if they do I will probably not let them touch it.

You only went with four player buttons each ?

Just curious as to why.

I've got a vertical monitor in there and not many vert games needs 4+ buttons.  I'll be saving the 6-7 button setup for my next cab. :)
