Golden Tee Fore info needed
« on: May 24, 2006, 10:10:57 am »
I have read that the Golden Tee Fore boards use an Nvidia Graphics card. They also run at med. resolution. The Graphics card loops back to the PCB via a VGA cable.

So this leads me to my question. Is it possible to connect a PC monitor to the VGA out directly or even split the connector to a PC monitor?

Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks.

Bob

Tried that a few weeks ago but they refuse to give any info as "The game was not meant to be used that way"

I'm guessing the main PCB is expecting a video signal, so you probably would have to split it so that video still runs to the PCB.  The only way to know is to try it.

It might be possible, I did this with a gauntlet legends board which had a voodoo graphics card and it worked fine.  I think the video signal is routed back thru the pcb just so it can go out the jamma pinout.
You also have the fact that your board is outputting a med res signal so you have to have a monitor that will support that.  Or does gt fore have a dip switch setting to change to vga?

I don't have a GT PCB yet. I have the means of aquiring one but that will eat up the disposable funds for now. I was hoping to use it on a VGA monitor or a TV with a convertor. I hear that the convertors don't work well though. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Just noticed that GT Fore is also a Voodoo card. What kind of monitor did you use with your gauntlet? I think this might be the way to go for me. Did you use a splitter or just connect the monitor cable?

GT Fore switches between low and med. resolution.
