Lego Star Wars - Recommended for 2-player cabinet
Skadar:
Wow, it's been a long time since I've last posted. But I just had to pass on a recommendation for Lego Star Wars on a cabinet.
I just discovered Lego Star Wars ($20 at CompUSA) even though the game is about a year old. Being a heavy PC gamer and knowing that Lego games have traditionally been pretty poor, I was incredibly surprised by Lego Star Wars! Top quality all the way. This game was obviously a labor of love by the developers.
I can sum up the gameplay by simply saying that Lego Stars Wars is a modern, more complex version of Mario64. It basically takes you through the Episodes I to III, and is in fact, much more enjoyable than the actual movies. Hah!
I've been playing LSW at home on my PC using a GameCube controller adapter and it plays wonderfully. After realizing that the game was 100% playable with the keyboard, and that it has a great 2-player cooperative mode, I decided to install it on my Aladdin's Castle MAME cabinet. The only "tweak" it needed was to be told to run in 640x480. Other than that, it runs and plays perfectly.
Just FYI, here is a list of PC games that I run and enjoy on my cabinet:
Star Monkey (Small Rockets)
Ultra Assault (Small Rockets)
Mutant Storm (Pom-Pom)
Space Tripper (Pom-Pom)
Lego Star Wars (Eidos)
Cheers!

Lilwolf:
great game for sure!
to bad it requires DirectX9 and the video card on my cab just can't hang with it.
but a GREAT game and works GREAT with a standard cabinet setup.
JonnyBoy:
My brother's friend was the director of the animation department that did the textures for that game. It's a great game for sure.

My cousins best friend knows a guy who bought the first copy at our local Walmart. The game definitely rocks! :applaud:
