Case with power supply
« on: April 15, 2006, 02:38:45 pm »
OK. I hate brothers all family members. I have picked out a Motherboard and Processor and Memory (I know I should get a gig but he is CHEAP!). Can anyone recommend a case that has a power supply that will work with that board? I have been reading that it needs a 24 pin power supply and I am not seeing where that is listed. Also, can a person put Windows XP Pro on that even though it is a 64 but processor? (I haven't built a computer for a while...can you tell?)

Thanks for any help.

Just about all powersupplies now days have 24 pins.  If in question, look for "ATX 2.0".  That's the actual name for the ATX with 24 pins.
As for Windows, sure.  I install XP on those chips all day long.  Yes you can get a 64 bit version of XP, but it's basically not worth it for such a low end machine and it requires 64bit drivers for all your hardware.
