GBA Screenshot Pack
headkaze:
The naming convention is not as important as having snaps that match the ROM names and not everyone will have their ROMs named the same as you. With a dat file means anyone can rename thier ROMs to match. As I said before there are quite a few different naming conventions for GBA ROMs.

I understood your point but I just would not want my Rom filenames to use those long filenames from jcrouse's DAT file since those would be the names which would show up in the MameWah game listing. Also, I kind of would like my Rom files to adhere to the official "pocket" numbering system and GoodTools naming convention when possible.
Again, I understand the need of a DAT files, but perhaps a new DAT file could be created to help everyone out which will rename their Rom files to the "pocket" heaven filenames.
jcrouse
Would it be possible to take the Rom filelist I provided and make a program to rename the GBA Roms from that?
headkaze:
Personally it's not a big deal for me because GameEx will remove the text after a bracket. Also, having numbers means games arn't listed in alphabetic order which is what you want in a FE (I would expect). The numbers thing means you can't find a game you want by name.
I suppose the way to do it would be if jcrouse would write a program to rename his ROMs to match the text file you posted, then create a CLRMame dat from from the ROMs, then he could include that with his program and people could use the dat file to rename their ROMs along with their snaps.

Exactly what I was recommending ..... now lets see if he will do it ... he has been silent for a while now ... perhaps he is already done ...
headkaze:
If he dosn't do it I'll make the dat file. I'll make one with and without numbers based on that list and it should work with jcrouse's renamer.
