Yet another WG D9200 question
« on: February 19, 2003, 11:08:10 am »
Hi all, great site.  Been looking at buying the D9200, and I have downloaded the specs to make sure it would fit with my cabinet plans.

My question is really two, about the size and eye strain.

The specs say it measures roughly 24" x 20".  I drew that out on paper and it looks huge!  And measures 31" diagonal???  Extrapolating, a 27" diagonal would be about 21" x 17".

Can someone who actually owns this monitor confirm its dimensions?  (and I would like both screen size and overall size, although from the specs that looks almost the same).

Also, if you are standing just 2 feet away from this huge screen, is eyestrain a problem?

Thanks,

AlanS17

There's no such thing as "too big".  ;D

The maximum viewable image is sort of bordered on all sides makeing it physically larger than a 27".  The image doesn't run all the way to the very edge of the monitor.  And it is heavy.  It's about 85 lbs.  Not very fun to lift and set down over and over trying to line it up to mount exactly how you want.  And something to remember is that it mounts from the top and bottom, not the sides like some other monitors.

Double check the specs at the wells gardner site.. that *may* be the dimensions including the mounting brackets..
