Is it just me or are humans taking it up the wazoo in stargate, atlantis and BSG?  They are all making really stupid mistakes, trusting people they have no business trusting and then getting completely hosed in the process.  It seems that the new sci-fi shows have no problem with decimating civilizations, killing off re-occuring characters and other wise turning the shows on their ear--I haven't decided whether I like this new trend or not but it is certainly more realistic.  The good guys don't always win, the hero doesn't always survive and people don't always do whats best.

My one beef is that for the love of god why has no one killed baltar--he is personally responsible for the deaths of billions +11,000 more--i can't believe he hasn't had a literary cumuppence yet...
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Not to pick nits or anything, but we don't know exactly how many people were on Cloud Nine when it blew up.

50,000 in fleet before colonization of New Caprica - 39,000 residents of New Caprica City does not equal 11,000 killed by nuke because of the thousands of people still in the fleet.

I'm guessing more like 1,000 killed in nuke + 10,000 left in ships.

So Baltar is only responsible for the deaths of billions + maybe 1000 more, not billions + 11,000. So go easy on the guy. :)

I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.

I like the way they ended it.  It leaves so many unanswered questions as to what happened in that year on 'New Caprica'.  It gives you a lot to think about until season 3 starts.

I bet they start off next season with flashbacks that will fill in the gaps.  IT basiclally give the writers more freedoom for next season, they can move on with the cylon occupation, or they can fill in the gaps.
To each their own of course, but I'm not going to vote this show as the 'best sci fi ever' when the writers are just making crap up every single week. I *know* that's why they didn't bother putting the effort into doing a proper show on the missing year, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It's just a crutch for the writers to "spice up" their season finale without having to put any extra work into it. To words: alien nazis.  :'(

In other words, there is no point "thinking about" what will happen next because that is based entirely on what the writers have for lunch next year, and very little to do with the work they have done in previous years. Which is the exact reason why I don't bother following "Lost", even though on paper that show has all the hallmarks of a show I would normally have become completely obsessed with.
Done. SLATFATF.
