What types of 33" monitors are there?
« on: December 27, 2005, 09:33:18 pm »
Is the WG9200 the only multi-sync monitor made in the 33" size. I have heard of the Betson and others but they only seem to be made in 27" size. I like that the Betson can go up to 800x600, whereas the WG9200 only has a max of 640x480. The new billabs seems even better at a max of 1024x768, but also only seems to be in 27" size.

I actually just found one called the Wei Ya M2934-82 which is 15-48 khz multisync.   Here's the web site for it:
http://www.weiya.com.tw/monitor/p9-1.htm

It seems though that the only way to order it is directly from Taiwan, which makes me a little nervous. Has anyone tried this monitor or know if it is compatible with the Slikstik Quad cabinet that I am planning on purchasing.

Does anyone have any information on any other multisync 33" monitors?

Thanks so much for your help.

The 9200 will do 800x600 but I believe the documentation from WG has not been updated as yet. Check further into this, but I know it is fact for the 27" model.

You can also get presentation monitors, although not sure what is still made.

NEC used to do a range of large multi-standard monitors. I've got an old NEC 29" presentation monitor that does from 15Khz to 1024x768 at 75Hz. I know there was a 36" version of this and possibily a 32/33" as well. (NEC Multisync XM29 and XM37)

Mitsuibishi also did a range: Mitsubishi MegaView 33 comes to mind.

Note these are standalone monitors that come in a case so not be what you are after...

Have you contacted BilLabs?  BilLabs is the US distributor for Wei-Ya, so if Wei-Ya has a 33" multi-sync, chances are, BilLabs may be planning to bring it overseas.

I went to their website.  It seems that they only offer 15-25 or 31-48khz models.  I did not see any models on their website that are multisync from 15-48khz.  Thanks for the info however.  Now I have something to compare the WG to if it turns out that is as good as it gets.

I have an NEC Mutisync XM37.  It's a great monitor, but I have never tried using it for 15KHz.  I know this sounds stupid, but how would you do it?  I've got a test bench for JAMMA boards......does the monitor automatically switch to 15KHz if the signal is sent?

There are a few different models of the XM37 - the XM37, XM37 Plus, XM37 Xtra. I think all have slightly different specs...

I think most of them have 2 RGB inputs - 1 is a D-sub and probably 5 BNC's for RGB input 2 (R,G,B,H,V). You should be able to just feed 15Khz RGB in no problem to the same input. (Note it probably does not support 25Khz - but check your manual)

My XM29 supports 25Khz no problem.

@Popcorrin.

Pm'd you, but trying to find out the exact model of XM29 you have. I seem to find specs saying it does not do 25Khz?
