Frontend with Autoexit
« on: January 05, 2006, 10:33:51 pm »
Just looking for a graphical frontend like ultrastyle that has autoexit so if a game is inactive for a few minutes it will go back to the frontend menu?

The "pro" version of Atomic does that.  But this version is in "stand by" as it seems to cause ethic problems to the mame team.

But, this version should be available again a soon and not limited , as now a new tool exists to manage coin drop. I don't see any reasons why i have to remove the functionnality from my FE.

Standby sounds like a cool feature.

The only feature they had was the coin saving.  Why not just remove that feature.  (but I thought you redid it slightly so it would be ok for home users, but wouldn't work in a buisness... Don't remember what it was, but thought you came up with a cool comprimise... might be wrong).

Anyway, even with other apps that can do it (and other ways to do it) you should still make sure to listen to the mame teams concerns.  They really try not to make bootlegging easy.   Its not what they wrote mame for... and we should try and respect their feelings (since they really did so much more work then we have on our cabinets / support software).

Yes, the unlimited version i will release will be only for home use and not exploitable.  But i'm sure some will try anyway but it will cause more problem than benefits so they will stop i think.
