I have to agree with Ray, my wife doesn't understand my addiction to "gadgets", she would much rather go on vacation than have a big screen TV. When I finished my basement home theater she was always complaining that it was too loud, too much subwoofer, and now that we have a baby, we watch TV on my old 32" Toshiba, so we can hear if the baby cries and it is not as loud as the surround sound in the basement. But all women are diffrent I just wished my wife was into home theater a little more than shopping for baby clothes. God bless the wife that loves big screen, I wish my wife could hang out with that kinda lady! ;D

Oh, on the whole I wouldn't assume I have it better, and we will be leaving it at that.

Since I bought my plasma screen I have messed around with the various resolutions.

480P looks ever so slightly better than 480I when hooked up through RGB. 480I through the regular RCA input trounces them both. While the native VGA res of the monitor with a computer trounces all of them. But that is just my set.

All of the above look better than both my normal TV and my D9200.

I cannot make any reports about the S-video quality as my latest s-video cable has gone black and white on me, AGAIN!!! This is the 4th s-video cable that has happened to, and not all with the same equipment either.

Paige, are you saying that regular "yellow" RCA plug at 480i looks better than RGB componet video at 480p? I am under the belief that componet looks the best than Svideo than finally composite.

Component SHOULD look much better than normal RCA, at least in general.  I can't speak for Paige's set obviously, but if that's the case for his, something seems odd.

There's a pretty noticeable quality bump from RCA to Component, especially if you are doing comparisons and really looking for the differences.
first off your and idiot

The problem is that I only have room for one slightly used woman.  I'd have to find something to do with my own in the process.

Battle to the death.  Charge admission to see it, get rid of the extra woman.... sounds like a win-win to me.

I just talked to my buddy who has a Samsung, and he said he does notice a lag while playing Xbox! Yikes, I watched a movie on it and it looked great but I did not see any video games on it.

I wouldn't feel good about spending thousands on a new set right now with SED technology looming on the horizon.

Thats what people said about LCOS 2 years ago. If you're waiting for the latest greatest thing, you're going to be waiting forever.

Paige, are you saying that regular "yellow" RCA plug at 480i looks better than RGB componet video at 480p? I am under the belief that componet looks the best than Svideo than finally composite.

It might also very well be the possibility that the 480P is so sweet that it is showing off the flaws in the original DVDs/tapes/Divxs/etc. Some of them do look better with 480P, but enough of them don't that I have been running 480i instead.

Also, annoyingly enough my monitor has no zoom modes available when running RGB.

Finally, I have always thought it was funny that every widescreen set is 16:9, while it seems like 80 percent of the widescreen content out there is 2.35:1 and fifteen percent is 1.85:1, while the remaining 5 percent is actually 16:9. Searching through all my DVDs so far I have only found one 16:9 movie (Total Recall), compared to about 30 2.35:1 movies and several 1.85:1 movies.

Negative, did you ever decide on a TV and did you test your playstation on a Samsung?
