Weird ass moth
« on: December 21, 2005, 07:16:03 am »
I found it in my garage minutes ago. Never seen anything like it before. It's kinda freaking me out but that might just be the smoke.

Bloody hell. I don't know what is going on here. It must be the heat or something....I just had the worlds biggest ant crawling around in my office. Haven't seen one of these before either.

I feel like I got bugs crawling on me, can't stop scratching and fidgeting now.

I can only assume the insects are mounting a full scale global attack on my abode. I am not sure if I will make it through the night.

I have a theory into that; I don't see any bugs in those pictures, just empty space.  Perhaps you're seeing things that aren't there?

Can you feel them crawling under your skin yet?

Actually, it is a species of Hawk Moth (SPHINGIDAE), specifically (Sphingidae Macroglossinae Cizara ardeniae) or shortened as (Cizara Ardeniae)

- They are some of the fastest flying insects, capable of flying at over 50 km/h (30 miles per hour)

Mr.C just drew a parallel to himself and a homosexual sociopath who stalks and kills overweight women in order to make himself a female skin of human flesh.

Well, not overweight specifically, just one. Needed the extra back skin. Ya' know, broad shoulders and all.

Not what, WHO.  Isaac.  Isaac Ass Moth.  He was some famous sciency guy (sorry to use that technical lingo there).  He found the formula for why you should wearing pants on your head while starting a fire with a teacher who's a fish with corduroys or something.

Also, just to preempt the oh-so-inevitable, and ever-so witty "you're gay" retort, let me just clarify....Yes, I like Moths!   :-*

You didn't preempt anything, you only preceded it.  The only thing you've done is clarify that you are a gay homosexual

That would make you gay.

What if I'm only attracted to my feminine qualities?   :-X

Isn't sex with yourself counted as masturbation and not being gay?

But where does that leave clone sex?

For the record, plumpness is ok. I like curves so if the proportions are correct (and she doesn't smell), I can dig a fat chick and would offer her my services with great enthusiasm.

I draw the line at the formation of multiple rolls of lard that no longer accentuate a woman's curves.

I also don't mind a pot belly on a chick, if the rest of her is hot.....

So what I assume is a babe to outrank all babes...... Young Cate replies via email to my curious question.

Your beautiful Moth

Hello Bones,

Firstly, thank you for the wonderful images, identification is made much easier by great pictures.
The moth you have is a hawk moth Cizara ardenia (Family:Sphingidae)  It is the only species in the Cizara genus and occurs from Cairns down to southern coastal NSW. The larvae feed on plants from the family Rubiaceae.

This one and other hawk moths can be seen on the following web page
http://www.ento.csiro.au/gallery/moths/Sphingidae
Some general info is available:

Happy Christmas

For your convenience I have translated the true nature of her message.

You can apply the opposite of that statement to whomever you want.

But there is a party in the US who thinks the government is better off running your life than you are.  And I consider that to be an infringement on my freedom.

OK.... back to the thread.

Today I had another freaky moth fly into my office.

I believe this one is some type of scout, probably sent by the moth overlord to search for any weakness in my office perimeter before launching a full scale attack.

However, I will not go down without a fight. If Iron Maiden has taught me only one thing, it is if your gunna die, die with your boots on.

Come get some you crazy moth ---daisies---.

Make sure to tell your wife that at the very least, before they cut you out and bury you, please have her take pictures and post them here of when they took you back to their moth lair and ate what little brains you had.

Tell her I understand she'll need some time to grieve before buying her plane ticket so she doesn't have to rush.

Except at the time of Abe Lincoln Republicans were liberal and Democrats were conservative.  Keep in mind that George Bush swept the south.  Every.  Single.  State.

He won the south because hes pro slavery?  You got nerve Shmokes

I know it's hard.  Try to follow along this time.  The south is decidedly republican, as one might gather by looking at election results, such as the most recent presidential election, where EVERY "southern" state voted Republican.  During the time of Abe Lincoln the "southern" states hated republicans.  During the time of Abe Lincoln Democrats were the champions of States' Rights.

And racism against blacks is FAR more prevalent and severe in the South than in any other region in the U.S.  I wouldn't say that the South backed Bush because republicans are pro-slavery, but racial politics such as affirmative action, hate crime legislation, and the end of separate but equal and the back-of-the-bus certainly play a role.  To suggest otherwise is Pollyanna ignorance.    Voters care about that stuff.

And even if I'm full of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about the racial stuff (I'm not), and it's all just generic States' Rights differences, the fact remains that Abe Lincoln's Republican Party parallels todays Democrats and Robert E. Lee's Democrats parallel todays Republicans.  Think about it logically.  Was Abe Lincoln for stronger federal government, or stronger States' Rights?  Wasn't there something of a scuffle about whether the federal government could tell the states what they could and couldn't do?

Even though I'm a Republican, it doesn't bother me that guys like you and Mr.C constantly rail against all things moral and conservative.

Is this why you can't stop bringing it up?  ::)   (In a thread about moths?!)

And since when is conservatism synonymous with morality?
If you really believe it is, then I'd posit that you've been snookered and the Republicans are taking advantage of your lack of critical thinking. It's a marketing ploy. Nothing more.

Unless, of course, you think it's moral to partake in money laundering (DeLay, Abramoff, Bob Ney, "Duke" Cunningham, scores of others), insider trading (Frist), Perjury, obstruction of justice (Libby, Rove), and pissing on the constitution (Bush w/ illegal wiretaps).

I don't rail against all things Republican, just all things illegal and damaging to our democracy...which, these days, seems to be all things Republican.

Hey maybe Congress will convene impeachment hearings.  Then Bush can be just like your hero Bill Clinton.

As much as I enjoy the feigned outrage from the right over Clinton's indiscretion, they both broke the law, and they should both face the consequences. I think some perspective is in order though. Clinton lied about oral sex and Bush illegally spied on American citizens, with complete disregard for the constitution, and in direct violation of FISA laws. With Bubba, only Monica was wearing the blue dress, with Bush's illegal wiretaps...*you're* wearing it.

As for impeachment, Clinton got his (no pun) and Bush looks to be next. What's your problem with that?

I won't deny that Clinton screwed up, but really, which is worse: Lying about getting an out-of-marriage blow or violating the Constitution?

Clinton did both.  He used "illegal" wiretaps on that guy from the CIA who was convicted of treason, or something.

You can see by my specifics that I don't really care that much.

Clinton lied!

He was indicted for lying in a federal court, not a press conference.

Hot political debate = not possible.  Especially on the internet.

I would say that all 3 of those words are wrong  ;D

Not one participant is "Hot"
It's not "political".  It's ignorant
"debate?"  nope, arguing on the internet.

Bill Clinton sealed his legacy when he tried to redefine the word "is" in court.

He could have at least picked a word that he stood a chance with.

I'ma go party with MrC.

He and I are gonna be good friends this year.  We've got butterfly nets and jars to put whatever we find into.  I think I've inspired him with my CP, and we'll see big things this year, plus a few crazy stories of people doing silly things.

piles of 'em.  My parent's place seems to have them around all the time.  Not sure if those specific ones are there, but there's enough to sort through

This smoochy fest is awe inspiring.  Reminds me of the last scene of naked gun, when all of the enemies hugged!

Post a pic of drew and mrc hugging it out ---smurfette---!

Don't worry... remember, at the end of Naked Gun, OJ gets killed by a marching band.

Ah, yes.  So we have death by marching band to hope for?  If you cross me, the horn section will come for you!  Or Milt.

I thought it was the 50 meter fall that killed him.
Now in a tasty new flavour.
