I find things like that funny until it messes around with children. That would freak kids out and I'm not in favor of doing that.

I don't really have a response. It's a stupid, tasteless display, but I don't think it was right for the paper to publish the guys frickin' home address. I mean, what's more frightening/damaging to children...a fake bloody santa display, or people beating up other people because they don't like what they say?

In the short run, the Santa is more harmful.

The beating of the guy may be beneficial, as it shows what happens when you poke the bear too hard.

I'm guessing you don't watch much TV or or movies...A child can see violence anywhere(including the schoolyard-especially over what people say), and like many of us, have become somewhat desensitized to it in a lot of cases(Granted it's still something different to see it done in person, but somehow...I see a lot of kids cheering on the hurting of this guy).

Santa (albeit commercialized) IMHO is still one of the relativly Good/Clean/Pure things a child can look to in this ---fouled up beyond all recognition--- up world.
