MAME Hi-scores, Removed Features, Etc.
« on: December 21, 2005, 01:59:21 am »
I've been reading a few posts around different boards about some of the 'MAME is hardware emulation, screw the users' type stuff that has gone on, and I'm a bit confused now.

Do I need to use a certain build of mame to get hiscore functionality and have it be semi-user friendly?

I cant seem to find a 'descriptive' list of what the different builds have, which are updated, etc.  (Doesn't help much that mameworld doesnt seem to get updated at all anymore...)

For recent (Post 0.37 or so builds) you just need hiscore.dat in your main MAME folder.

Yeah, I saw the news board updates, but they seem to be...well...unfiltered shall we say.  ;D

And I guess I'll have to just ask if I need mame to do something special.

Thanks!
