http://www.flickr.com/photos/jtorok/sets/1568705/I was able to get to this show on Saturday. The event was held in the old Hershey Hockey Arena. My first impresion was that it felt like I was walking into Paul Newman's movie "Slap Shot" (Makin' it look mean!). It added some weirdly fitting retro ambiance to all the old pins and coin-op stuff.
I didn't buy much other then some back issues of Gameroom Magazine. Several of the vendors had mini-arcades set up to free play, this is were we spent most of our time. Saw Some amazing old coin-op stuff, EM Pins, some very nice jukes. Saw lots of overpriced restorations. Some poorly done 39-in-1 systems with horrible joysticks. Got to play the Elvira pin that I haven't seen in ages. The Pachislo slots with the full LCD that is translucent over the rollers were interesting. One vendor had a Computer Space and the Ripley people brought along their GIANT Hercules pinball.
Overall a good time - I'm not quite sure I fit into the market most of the attending vendors attempt to sell too. I'm more interested in picking up a beat cab for $50 and getting it to work for my gameroom rather then paying $1500 for a Pac-Man with a poorly applied full side vinyl sticker side art with air-bubbles (a razorblade and a squigee)...
