Tips for palletizing a cab?

Hi I just sold my Frogger upright machine on ebay:)

But the buyer wants me to palletize it for collection by a
courier, even though i specified collection only! this is ok i will just charge him extra for it

The Only thing is dont have first idea on how to
palletize it! would appreciate advice on best
technique to do it and what sort of materials are
required - apart from a pallet

I've never done it, but from what I've seen/heard: Get some large pieces of cardboard and use it to protect all sides/parts of the machine. Maybe even some padding over glass, controls, etc. Then tightly wrap it up with large sheets of plastic. Then you need to strap it down to the palette so it won't fall off. I'm not sure where you get straps. You'll have to charge your customer extra for the supplies!

Anything I've seen pallatized is just strapped to a skid and wrapped with a giant roll of plastic wrap.

IMO an arcade cabinet is too tall to just strap to a skit.  It kind of demands crating.

I'd call your buyer's courier of choice, or ask the buyer what he expects.

Tell the buyer that you only ship with NAVL. They will just pick it up loose and they will wrap it up for you, you don't have to do a darn thing.

My first cab arrived lied down half out of a car with bungee straps to hold it in... *sigh* but my second came palleted, it was just wrapped up with sheets of cardboard over specific areas ie. marquee/control panel with "handle with care" tape all around it =)
I dont think it was attatched to the wooden pallet itself, but then the dang thing weighs over 300 pounds so I dont think it needed to

If it's anything like in the military, you take it somewhere that has a pallet, strap it down, cover it in netting or industrial-like saran wrap, weigh, and send it off. The courier service should hook you up with all that. Just take it there and they should take care of the rest.
